About Me: My first owner didn't take very good care of me. S/He kept me for almost a year and didn't feed me or anything. I was lucky though, because in the fall of 2005, s/he took me to the Bloomington Humane Society. It was the best thing that had ever happened to me. When I got there, I was malnourished and sick. My adult teeth were falling out, I had a respiratory infection, a bad eye infection, I was only 4 lbs., I didn't have much hair, and I had a BB lodged in my leg from where someone shot me. I was easily the most sickly and hopeless looking kitty in the place. Then after I'd been there for 2 months, my mom came in looking for another cat. She was looking for a little male kitten, but fell in love with me...a 13 month old sickly girl. She brought a whole bunch of her law school friends into see me before she adopted me and they all thought she was crazy. They thought I looked disgusting, and like I was going to die. Mom adopted me anyway, and after a lot of medication and TLC I started to change into the beautiful, fluffy, sweet cat I am today. AND NOW, all those friends of mom's wish I was theirs!!! Serves them right!!!!
Nicknames: Res (pronounced Race), Resie (Racey), Reser (Racer), Cheesy Poof, KitKat, Fluffy, Orange Explosion.
My Motto: You must love me; I am purrfect.
Likes: Sleeping, being petted, eating, and hanging out on the balconey
Pet-peeves: My sister Niobi, she gets in these moods where she just wants to bug me, and she'll jump on me and chase me around and bite me.
Best Tricks: Keeping knots out of my enormously fluffy hair.
Favorite Activities: I like to harass the birds in the Aviary. There are a whole bunch parakeets in there. I call them lunch with wings...I just can't figure out how mom expects me to eat them when they're in protective custody.
Favorite Food: Once a week mom normally declares a "treat night" and gives Niobi, Roman, and I each a serving of wet cat food. I like that a lot. I'm sad because mom is afraid to do more treat nights since the wet cat food recalls.
Favorite Toy: The plastic ring around jugs of milk
Favorite Walk: I like to walk around the balconey on the railing. It gives my mom and dad heartattacks. One time I jumped up there and overshot the railing and went right over the railing. Mom and dad RAN down the stairs outside and caught me as I was trying to make my getaway...I was just going to go on a little adventure. As for falling from the balconey, I landed in the grass and I was just fine, but now mom watches me like a hawk when I'm on the balconey and I'm not allowed to go out there without her or Dad. I DID teach Niobi to go up on the balconey railing though....I'm hoping she'll fall off and run away.
