Rapido Madero - Greyhound

About Me: My full racing name is Rapido Madero. Most people just call me Madero. I ran for almost 3 years in Daytona, FL. I was finally adopted in July of 2007 after running over 200 races. That's a lot for a Greyhound! While racing, I placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in almost 100 of my races. That's part of the reason why I raced for so long, I was smoking fast! Now that I am retired, I usually sleep about 16-20 hours a day. You think I'm kidding, but I'll beat your teenager hands down. If you happen to catch me while I'm awake, I'll probably be playing with one of my stuffies! One of my Dad's usually takes me for a couple of walks a day, and I must say, I am totally spoiled. Who can blame them though, aren't I adorable, and I am in retirement.

Nicknames: Hound Dog, Maddie, Hot Dog, Ariel (I always want to be where the people are!)

My Motto: Sleep hard or go home!

Likes: I love to sleep. I prefer cockroach style on my back with all four legs in the air. I also enjoy going on walks and visiting with company.

Pet-peeves: I hate it when Dad says I can't "sniff for snakes" on our walks. Sometimes I just want to explore.

Best Tricks: Looking adorable with my ears and getting whatever I want ;-)

Favorite Activities: As mentioned, sleeping, eating, and an occasional 10 minute spurt with my stuffies.

Favorite Food: Apples, Clementines, Whip Cream (as a special treat)

Favorite Toy: "Atom" Stuffy

Favorite Walk: I enjoy walking around the neighborhood and meeting all my neighbors. They get excited when they see me out and about. It takes us forever to get home with all that socializing!
