Do I even try to put up a tree?

Seamus on Behavior - Mon, November 26 2007

Well this will be Seamus's first christmas with us and he is not the most graceful dog in the world. He slips and slides all over the house, runs into things and he has to smell everything more than once. Is there any opinions about how to decorate our family's christmas tree this year? Or ideas to try to keep him away? Please help!!

Only use glass ornaments in the upper half of the tree where Seamus can't reach if you must use them at all.

Use wooden or plastic ornaments lower down where a curious dog may chew or knock something off.

You can use string/wire and a hook in the wall to keep the tree securely upright.

Use a squirt bottle to deter him from getting too close!

We're going to have the same problem with Miles. He's such a klutz, I know something going to crash to the ground. I think we're going to go shopping for new, plastic and less harmful ornaments and hope for the best!

I had my first tree last year and I chewed branches off of it. I also opened several of me and Baby's presents. My mom moved the presents on top of the tv and then I used the bathroom under the tree. She sprayed some stay off spray under there and on the bottom branches and I decided to leave it alone.
