Home Sweet Home!

Zeek on Activities - Mon, November 26 2007

What a weekend! Mom got off work early Wednesday night and we went to Grandma and Grandpa's for the weekend. Wednesday night I ran right in and tried to pee on a couch cushion that was propped on the floor. Mom was mad, but she was tired too, and Grandma got it while Mom was out getting more stuff out of the car. Thursday all these people came over, most of them were stupid. I barked at them when they came in, and then they'd tell me or tell Mom to tell me to shut up, which just made me talk more. Then, some of them would get me stirred up and then tell me to be quiet. If you want me quiet, don't get me started in the FIRST PLACE. While they were eating, I went in the living room and peed on a LazyBoy. Mom again was mad, Grandma found it first and hit it with Oxy Magic. Mom was seriously impressed that Grandpa only gave her a look. Grandma said that it wasn't all my fault, she had seen me at the back door earlier, but didn't pay much attention. I love her. By four they were all gone and I was exhausted, no morning or early afternoon nap, so I made up for it. Friday, Mom and I went into town and went to the park. They don't have a bark park, and it's not anything to get excited about. Mom just wanted me to take my constitutional so we could go. She went to Lowes and bought Grandpa's Christmas present on sale. She said I had to stay in the car because she didn't know if they would let me in at this one or not, they're kind of weird where she comes from. Then she went to another store across the street. I could go in there either. She called her grandma to ask if we could stash Grandpa's tool box up at their house since it took up half her trunk and she'd just be bringing it back in three weeks. She said yes, so we went up there. They have a rat terrier named Angel. I didn't think she was much of an angel, though. She barked and barked at me and showed her teeth a lot. Then she hit behind the chair. Later, Grandpa Bob came out. I really like him, so I wanted to go jump in his lap, but Hell's Angel came out of nowhere and put a stop to that. I laid in the floor in the sun and took a nap for a while. Then I got up and marked the chair that they were sitting in, she was still growling at me, and I wanted to show her what I thought of it. Mom said it was time for us to go. Dad called after we left and Mom told him what happened. He gets upset, mad, but he restrains it well, when he hears about me peeing anywhere indoors. When Mom sticks up for me, he calls her an enabler. This time he said he would be the enabler. Angel makes messes in the house, and Grandma Marjorie is getting new carpet in the spring. Dad said, "If a place smells like dog piss, he's gonna piss in it." Way to be understanding Dad!!! Friday we just hung out and waited for Grandpa to get home from work. Grandma works 12 hour shifts in Evansville, so she was gone all day and half the evening. Grandpa took Mom to dinner, and they had the audacity to leave me in the bathroom with the back porch door open. I don't like it in there, and I told them as much when we got back. Saturday, Grandma had to go to town. Since she only had to get out once, she said that I could go with them. We went to Starbucks, and I barked so much that the guy at the window gave me a doggie biscuit. Then we went to the bank and the teller gave me an envelope full of these funny colored tiny bone treats. Mom said if those came out like they went in, I would be pooping a technicolored rainbow in the morning. We then went through the drive thru at Walgreens but those crazy dopes (ha ha, pharmacy, dope, get it?) didn't have anything for ME! Mom and I sat in the car while she went to the grocery store real quick. So I had to bark at people walking by. I got to hang out all afternoon with all of them, and then they went to dinner and left me in the bathroom again! I peed on a towel in front of the tub that time. They were just happy I didn't go on the back porch carpet or Grandma's lighthouse rug in the bathroom. Yesterday, we had to meet Grandpa in town after church for lunch. Grandma rode with us, Mom had to get some gas for the drive back. They at least left me in the car while they were out. It was cold, but I had a tee shirt on and Mom got the car good and hot before she got out. They weren't in the restaurant long enough for me to get cold. We went back to pack up, and then after another 45 minutes we left. Mom got in the car and unwrapped a new treat from 3 Dog. It's a beef rib wrapped in beef rawhide!!! I kid you not, I chewed on it for the entire 2 hours and 20 minutes we were in the car. I didn't look up until we pulled into the garage and then I knew I was home! We got back around 4 and I had to make sure that everything was all right. I fell asleep in a chair. Mom went in to watch TV. A few minutes of that and I couldn't stand it anymore, I went to bed at 7:30. Mom came looking for me and there I was all curled up in my bed sleeping. I stayed that way until she got up at 8 this morning. Now, I'm sleeping in her lap.

Man, Zeek, you had quite a time visiting the Grands! All that barking and marking. You and your mom had a regular Bark and Mark extravaganza. We missed you at the BRBP, but there was some trauma involved with a few of the IP dogs (including my dumb sister), so you are better off that you weren't there.
