...No place like home...

RIP Freckles on My Blog - Sat, November 24 2007

It's been a busy day already and it's just barely the afternoon! The 'rents took us to run errands and then we went to the BRBP to see our friends. We got there a little early, so I sniffeed a few of the big dogs...Huskies, a big Boxer pup, and a German Shepard. Maggie was getting sniffed aggressively and the Shepard snarled at her. The Boxer's owner round-aboutly mentioned that when they lived out of state, there were dog parks that had separated areas where small dogs could mingle without big dogs. Yeah...mom nicely walked away from him and Maggie followed.

I got to sniff a bunch of our IP friends and their humans when they all got to the park! That was fun! Thanks to everyone for coming out to see me and pet me! I finally met my Poopsie and his peeps! Kirby and I played coy for the most part. After all, geriatric love isn't a show for everyone to see. We even shared an Eskimo kiss on the bench.

Maggie and I both got a foot bath when we got home before trampling through the house to tell Grandpa of our day. Now Maggie's snuggled up inside a throw blanket on the couch. I'm about to retire to the dog bed so I can watch Grandpa cook in the kitchen before dozing off.

Talk with you guys soon!!

PS: We hope Sydney's nose feels better soon.

It was a crazy day, but the best one I've had in a long time. I got to meet my Schmoopie.

Really, some of the owners at Broad Ripple need to have some sense knocked into them!! We've had the same problems there too. Mom's not going to renew our pass there for 08. We'll have to find another bark park....one where they do actually have a place for small dogs.

I'm not sure the 'rents are all that enthusiastic about going back anytime soon. I know Maggie's okay with not going anymore...it's too cold for the precious little diva, even with her sweater.

Peaches' mama here....we did find a doggie park down here and they do have a small dog park and a big dog park. We didn't take our doggies as we were just checking it out, but all of our doggies get along very well together and we have small (Peaches, KC and Rescue) and big ones (Emma and Tweeter). I really think it's the owners that are the problem. But that's just my opinion.

I agree with you Mama Peaches. Maggie has been to the park before and been around big dogs at home before. But these two dogs didn't know what to make of her since they were long-legged dogs...and then I think both big dogs wanted to play with her and it was more of a dominance "I got here first" issue with them and the Shepard snarled at Maggie when she tried to get away. Again, neither of the dogs' owners were around or came to the rescue until I picked Maggie up. It was then that the Boxer's owner said we should go to a park where big dogs and small dogs can't mingle.

The only reason the owners should be there in the first place is to pet Freckles and me. There shouldn't really be any other dogs there at all. Problem solved.

BINGO!!! DING DING DING! We've got a winner here!! Too bad you have to hang out in the car...hey, maybe we could start a drive-thru sort of deal? Everytime someone comes into and goes out of the park they have to stop by and pet you!

By the way, my mama loved Freckles recap of the day...especially news of the "geriatric" couple. And then the comments too....Maddie, you're a hoot! And ya gotta love Deuce in his red sweater....xxoo to all, Peaches
