Oopsie!

Rufus on My Blog - Wed, November 21 2007

I was bad. I peed all over the air cleaner machine in the corner of the room. Mom didn't yell at me but I know she was unhappy...especially since I'd been doing so well. I don't know what came over me! I went into my crate to pout and Deya came over and laughed at me and called me a dumb yard dog!
*Sigh*
Later, mom called me to come sit on the couch with her while Deya was outside and she still hugged me and petted me. She told me she knows mistakes will happen but that I should be sure I finish all my business outside before I come in and get so excited that I finish inside. She also told me that I don't have to mark anything in the house as "mine" because we all share everything and there is enough to go around and then some.

Being a house dog and learning these 'manners' things can be hard sometimes!

Oh Rufus! I was only teasing you last night! I peed in the house when I first got here too.
Mom doesn't get mad when we are trying to learn new things and don't do so good. Just ask her about the goosedown lap blanket I disembowled all over the house the second week I was here! Rowf! She turned all red in the face but she didn't try to hit me or anything... I just wasn't allowed to be by myself for a lonnnnggggg time! HA!

Don't feel bad Rufus! I had an accident on the bed the other night. Mom is always cool about it. She just changes the sheets, wonders why I do that sometimes and goes on. I don't know why I pee on the bed every once in a while. I don't mean too. It just happens! You're a handsome boy!!

Don't feel bad, I'm 11 and I had an accident in the house last night.
I just learned that when I absoluty have to go and can't hold it, I go on the linolium so mommy (or daddy) can just mop it up.
They don't like it, but they still love me.

Your mom loves you no matter what, Rufus, and she knows you will need a little time to get settled in. What a Happy Thanksgiving you will have in your forever home with a mom who doesn't yell at you or chain you up outside.

Keep up the good work Rufus. Sounds like your foster mom is very sweet and understanding. Remember to pee all over everything outside, not inside.

I'm glad you didn't get shocked!! Things in the house that are plugged into the wall should not be peed on, ok? You'll catch on. We love you anyway.

don't feel bad, rufus. us rescue dogs sometimes come with issues. i did too. i lived in outdoor kennels all my life, in rescue, until mom got me at a year and 2 months. i still will have an accident in the house, and i've been here a year and a half! i did tonight, actually! mom had us outside, then it started raining. well mom brought us in, and thought i'd done my business. i hadn't done it all, haha!!! daddy found a few big ol poopies on the floor a while later! you have genetics on your side, though, because you're a terrier. i'm a hound, i might *get it* when i'm like ten or so, LOL. or not... ;o)
