Update on Lucy - Looking Up!

It's Lucy's mom. Lucy the Goose is feeling better today. We went back to the vet and they took X-rays of Lucy's back. She has a staph infection that settled into one of the vertebra in her back - or that is what diagnosis makes the most sense. The only way to truly confirm it would be a painful (and unwise because it could spread the infection) biopsy.

So...Lucy will continue on her antibiotics and pain pills for 10 more days and then we go back for more X-rays and blood tests.

For those long-bodied, low-slung babies on the site, this is another cautionary tale to be super careful with the way you move and shake your body. Lucy probably hurt her back while playing and that inflammation became a target for the infection.
