You know you have alot in him. And you want him to go to a good home. And I just seen you add. And I seen the other adds on there also fo the same breed.
the sad thing is I know alot of ppl will over look your add at first for the cost. But if they realy want a good AKC chihuahua they will call you. If not they will go for the ( what is that CKC puppys).
You are right Sr. Gunner...CKC is usually the acronym for "continental kennel club." They will register anything, including mixed breeds. It's a bogus registry. This is why papers mean aboslutely nothing. What does matter are the healthy dogs in the parent's lines! CKC is also the Canadian Kennel Club, which is the equivelent to the AKC, but that's unlikely to see in the Indy star...espeically for a $100 chihuahua. Also, there is no way those dogs look like Stevie or her littermates--the heads will be differenet, thus litter size is larger, delivery easier, and less money to be charged per dog--not to mention, they are letting them go at 6 weeks!!!! Ahhhhh...that's crazy! They will end up looking like rat terriers or min pin/chi mixes (not that there's anythign wrong with that of course!), but if you want a purebred dog, you'd think you want one that looks like the breed it was intended to be. Ok...off the soapbox...
I imagine you don't really want an applicant who would buy a dog based on price only. On the surface it sounds like a lot, but if you figure up the cost of neutering a tiny toy breed, shots, and microchipping, plus a pretty solid guarantee of temperament, with excellent socialization, it's reasonable.
AKC doesn't really mean much either nowadays. The AKC doesn't follow up on anything and that contributes to a lot of random people deciding they are "breeders". Papers of any kind sadly mean nothing. Mom says I'm the last show dog she is ever going to buy. From now on we are a rescue only home. I personally would like to make some babies but Momma says no way!
Yup--totally agree with you, Strudel, but at least the AKC is more reputable than all these phony clubs--at least they have breed standards and are requesting DNA testing in some instances. That's what I mean when I say what's important is the health and temp of the dogs in the line, not the papers.... Besides, his papers don't mean much anyway as he's going on Limited Registration
