I need a name

Stevie on Behavior - Wed, November 14 2007

Ok...mom is having some trouble deciding on a name for me. She likes to use song names for her AKC names (or lyrics from a song), and then name us after someone in the song, the artist, etc.

However, she is having a really hard time thinking of a girl name she likes. She usually sticks with the 70's rock decade and it has to be a song she likes, so when she hears it, she thinks about her baby dog=me!

So--we are calling for some clever names. Mom's mom came up with "JI's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and then calling me Lucy, but mom says I'm not a Lucy--the name has to fit my personality. I'm silly, happy, outgoing, and spunky! And she can think of plenty of good boy names...

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated--please no 70's country or Disco :) She can't call me "Neanderthal head" forever!

Mom doesn't really know 70's rock...but Dad is a 70's rock fan. So she will ask him for suggestions when she gets home and get back with you!

Zepplin? Or Ramona as in the Ramones? Pixie?

My mom's a huge Beatles fan (obviously...). She said you should take some lyrics from Ob-La-Di surrounding the name Molly (Molly Girl I Like Your Face, anyone? lol). Or there's Sexy Sadie. Or Martha My Dear. You get the picture, I'm sure. :)

How about something by Janis Joplin? Keeping with the whole female singer thing? Maybe she could go by Bobbi (as in Me and Bobby McGee) or something like that. Mom really likes the way you pick names!

LOL--Janis is #1 on our list, but I can't decide if I like it. We were thinking "JI's Piece of My Heart" and then just calling her Janis--it's cute, but I can't decide if Janis works for her. Such a funny dog name, but might be why it's cute? We also had "JI's Take the Money and Run" but dad doesn't like the name Bobbie Sue...stupid dads....

Oh, I know...."Roxanne" was on our list too--but I don't like the name Roxy...no offense to any with the name.

Okay...here is our suggestions:
Rhianna-from Fleetwood Mac song (duh) Sorta goes along with Stevie.

What about Cher or Lita (Lita Ford) or Blonde or Pat (Pat Benitar) or Tina (Tina Turner) or Christine (Fleetwood Mac Christine McVie).

All good suggestions: Keep em coming! Sorry Charlie, we already have a Maggi May in the household--that wouldn't work too well! (Grandpa's schnauzer).

I've considered Rhianna...I'll have to look into that more...

Okay..dad's suggestions were Benitar or Rhianna. Personally mom likes Rhianna. She can see that both have been suggested already.

What about JI's Baba O'Riley (call her Riley)?
Or JI's My Aim Is True (call her Costello/a or just "Stella");
JI's Fly Like an Eagle or JI's Take the Money and Run (Millie for Steve Miller Band);
JI's Ruby Tuesday (Ruby);
JI's You Ain't See Nothing Yet (not sure what to call her)?

I'm going to play word nazi here, because if you decide on naming her this, you must get it right. The name of the Fleetwood Mac song is "Rhiannon," not "Rhianna." The current pop star is named Rihanna. Sorry, I can't help it.

There's Bella Donna by Stevie Nicks, Libby (Libby Titus who's a singer), Katrina (singer of Walkin' on Sunshine"), or CHER!!!! That's all I can think of, I'm not very good with the seventies, I don't have fingers to count that far bak on!
