I need $4

Casey on Behavior - Tue, November 13 2007

Mama booked us at the kennel for the Cristmas holiday. They charge by weight. I am at a borderline weight. Last time I was fine, but Mama thinks I am looking a bit chunky now and may hit the next level. We are staying for four days and it is an extra dollar a day if I am at the next weight level. Mama says she is not paying.
I told her I don't have four dollars. I need some help or I will be out in the cold!

maybe you will need to do a diet for the holidays? extra walks, less treats.. it'll be hard with all the holiday food around but isn't Mom worth it?

Maybe your parents will start giving you an allowance for doing jobs around the house. like chasing the evil, rodent squirrels away. that way you can earn those $4...

We would be glad to send you the $4, but KC went to Petsmart and spent all our treat money on.....you guessed it.....treats! Squirrel chasing might earn ya a couple bucks between now and Christmas. Ask your mom if she would pay you an allowance for barking at stuff outside and keeping burglars away...I bet that's worth even more than $4. If not, you can come to Georgia and stay with us. My mama has to work during Christmas.

I think you should sell pictures of yourself to get the money. You could even sign them with your doggy paw print. You're really cute and I bet you'd make way more than $4.

Casey, I think I'd see about earning extra allowance around the house. The holiday season is definitely NOT the time to try to lose a pound or two. There are so many yummy treats--turkey, gravy, pumpkin pie, cookies, cheese.......mmmmm.........

I know you're a Beagle and your eyes may not sag as much as mine does. But could you try your best to imitate the Pitiful Me look like Puss-In-Boots from Shrek? I bet Mom would forgive you for your extra poundage and pay for it. Aren't you worth it after all? It's one less Starbucks a day...oooh, maybe we could get you on one of those Sally Struthers type infomercials..."For pennies a day..."

The Sally Struthers idea is a great one, Freckles. She put on a few extra pounds, and then started asking for money. It was probably to help pay for her excess baggage at the boarding facility.

Madeleine, mom is laughing so hard!! That's soooo FUNNNY!!! Casey, your post just cracked mom up. Mom struggles to keep her weight off, so if she were boarded, she'd have a different price every time!

The nerve. Everyone knows us beagles pack on a few pounds to protect ourselves from the cold weather :P Poor Casey...you better do some laps and lose the weight neccessary to be in the smaller kennel. It will be way too cold to be outside at that time!

Well, I think I'd protest not about the $4, but being in a KENNEL during CHRISTMAS!! Are you kidding me??? You're too cute to be in there. What if Santa can't find you!!!!!!!!! If you mom says yes, you can come over here. Santa KNOWS we'll be here!

Thanks for all of your great ideas and support! Hoovie, to throw salt on the wound, did you notice my Birthday? Yes, it is December 25th! Crzy4Bgls and Hoover, thanks for the offer. I would love to come stay with another dog. I think Mama is staring to feel bad and everything will be ok. Although, she is talking about less treats...
