Petey & Abby: My Cure for Anxiety

I often get stressed out and anxious about my job. I come home and can't get work out of my head, especially when I have several deadlines looming.

Aside from a glass of wine, about the only thing that can calm me is my dogs, which is funny because they drive me crazy half the time. They just seem to know when I am having a bad day and respond accordingy. Too bad their instincts don't always carry over when I don't feel well.

All it takes is Petey sitting on my lap or Abby resting her head on my chest to put me at ease.

That is 100% true in this house as well. Those two goofy girls of mine are the best at getting me to come down from the job world and into the Jackie world.

Too bad they can't go to work with me for those stress relievers all day long!

I love coming home to my dogs. They are always doing something funny or distracting that keeps me from dwelling on something negative. Their company is just very special.

I couldn't agree more. Zoe is better than any antidepressant I have ever taken. I love to see her excitement when I open the door after work. Our nights together snuggling can help the stress fade away. Also, she doesn't hold it against me when I am depressed or stressed out like some human companions can!
