STUART STILL DOING WELL!

Speedy and (RIP) Stuart on Health - Sat, November 03 2007

just wanted to give the latest update on stewie. last monday, after i spoke with the vet, he has continued to get better each day. i would have to say he is completely back to his normal self! it is just the weirdest thing, i did not expect this! (but i'm soo happy, of course!) my friend who is a chiropractor lent me one of his stethoscopes, and i have listened to his heart. i do NOT hear that "gallop" in his rhythm as i did on that friday night. i just am completely confused. the only odd thing...well, maybe not so much, considering it's stuart, is that he had been obsessively licking himself. on the front of his neck, where they shaved to take blood, he licked that raw, and it looked like a hot spot! he also licked a spot on the inside of his back leg in the same manner, until it scabbed. he has begun to leave those alone, but he has always been a really OCD type of cat. he cannot stop himself from licking anyone who is near. to the point of complete annoyance!! i don't know if this whole thing could have brought on by anxiety, or something to do with this OCD...i don't know. i'm going to call and speak with the vet first of the week. he's eating very well, has picked up the weight he lost, drinking, pottying, etc. i just do not get it. but i will not question what, to me, was a miracle. anyhow, he seems very well, and i am still keeping him from getting upset, and that is the way it's just gonna be. ;o)

Thanks for the update on Stuart. All those puppy prayers seem to be helping.

We had a our cat for 22 years. Once my son let a stray cat in and while he was at school she had her kittens under his bed. I couldn't just put them all out. Our cat licked all her fur off and had sores. The vet said she was just stressed out and was over grooming. We hope Stewie continues to get better.
