I peed on my baby sister!

Ellis on Behavior - Fri, November 02 2007

So what has come over me. My baby sister,Emma, has been around for about a month now and mom is really happy that we are playing and getting along well. I no longer pouting for the most part and life is pretty good. However yesterday while Emmas was going potty I walked up to her smelled her rear end then hiked my leg, lucky dad was there and stoped me from peeing on her. Well this morning I did it again, mom was not as fast as dad so I got a good pee off on her. What the heck am I doing??? I have never done this to anyone in my life, heck I usually dont even hike my leg, I squat most of the time. Guess she looked like the mail box :)

Well, it's called dominance, Ellis. You are just trying to show her who's boss. But humans find this totally unacceptable for some reason, so I guess your folks will have to keep an eye on you and "correct" you, preferably when you are just thinking about approaching her, not after the leg is up. Is she spayed? Sometimes dogs hike their legs on saucy little girls who are giving a come-hither smell.

Nope, she is not fixed yet, she is only 10 weeks old.

HAHAHA!! I know this isn't very helpful, but dang it sure is funny! Okay, like Maddy said, it's probably a dominance thing. My brother used to do this to Raven when she first came home. Mom and dad just stopped him as he was approaching her. Once she was done, they did let him go over to her spot and mark over it, maybe that will help you?

Ellis, don't pee on that poor little puppy, unless you're just trying to show her that you love her! teehee......

Ya, mom and dad both have been laughing at me. It's a pretty funny site from what they say. I dont know, just seemed like a good place to go at the time.

EWW!!! Lol. Max tried to pee on me once a month or so ago. Luckily my mom saw him and stopped him before he could. So now he and Loki just continue with their game of marking. As soon as one does a spot, the other has to cover it. Back and forth. Silly boys! Lol. :)

Ya, I think I was really just aiming for the same spot. I always follwer her around and go right after her inthe same spot, but she was taking forever this morning and it was cold, so as a time saver I just peed on her :)

Yep. It's a dominance thing. I used to pee on Cousin Eddie all the time. He's my rat terrier cousin, and he used to stay at my house when his famlly would go on vacation. I was always humping him and peeing on him. Hee Hee

Yes Teddy did try to hump my dogsister Annushka when we met at Military Park. I just looked away & figured "boys will be boys".
