Very Special Cat for Adoption

Raspberry on Behavior - Mon, October 29 2007

Good morning, all. I'm Raspberry, one of the shelter managers at Cats Haven, and I have a question for you all. We have a *very* special kitty girl who is available for adoption. Her name is Puma, and she's a grey and white long-haired beauty. She's a little over one year old, loves to be brushed, but has one quirk. She absolutely hates dogs and will chase them. We had found a wonderful cat colony in Hamilton County for Puma where she could live with other cats, but she was picked up by the Hamilton County Humane Society yesterday for chasing a dog down the street. No kidding! So now Puma is in jail. We are going to bail her out tomorrow (Tuesday), and I'm personally looking for a home for her . . . an inside home with no dogs. She gets along fine with other cats, and she'd love to be an inside baby, but she is highly dog aggressive. If anyone is looking for a lovely kitty who is gorgeous, affectionate, smart, but now comes with an arrest record, please contact Cats Haven at 317-925-7001. Thanks so much!!! - Raspberry

What a fabulous name! Someone needs to take care of this unique cat...unfortunately, I live with a couple hounds, so that wouldn't work. How could we have 2 "Puma's" in one house, anyway? :)

She sounds kinda scary...My kitties love me. Mom says there's a "no vacancy" sign on our door anyway.

Puma's really not scary, unless you're a dog. :) Purrrr-sonally, I like dogs. But Puma has "issues" with them. You can see Puma's picture on the Cats Haven website at www.catshaven.org. The site is being rebuilt, so pardon our Internet dust. Just click the Available for Adoption link and scroll down.

Chases dogs huh? That's GREAT!! I could probably talk mom into taking her (she's a sucker for cats with arrest records!!) but us kitties live with two woofies - Mookie and Binx. I wouldn't want Puma to chase them. We'll all keep our paws crossed that Puma finds a woofieless home where she can be happy!!

oh, I love kitties that like to play chase -- but not always as the chasee! My old kitty Squirty used to hide around the corner for me to come chasing her and then *BAM* she'd whap me and take off running. Oh the memories... I hope Puma finds a good home!

It's stuff like this that makes me wish for a bigger place and paycheck. I love cats with "catitude"! And "defective" ones, and ones with funky markings and... Uhm. I'll stop now. C'mon lottery... I need to win!
