Puppy mill rescue

Blitzen on Shopping - Sun, October 21 2007

Here's the latest puppy mill rescue that was assisted by Best Friends. I can't wait for the day when other dogs won't have to endure what I did. Make sure to watch the videos too. Mom's eyes did leak but just because she loves happy endings. Mom says people would shudder if they could see the parents of their cute little pet store puppies. Can you imagine buying a puppy and seeing that Mabel was her mom? I imagine not too many people would rush to buy a puppy if they could see her. Poor dear is way too old to be having puppies. I'm just so happy that these dogs were saved from those horrible people. The worst part is that one of the Amish owners is trying to hide behind religion and he claims they did nothing wrong. Sure and I'm a Great Dane.

Our little beloved Bichon, Cooper (over the Rainbow Bridge now) came from one of those dreadful places. HSI helped with that one, and took pics. The conditions were horrifying. If you are someone out there looking for a wonderful dog, PLEASE do not buy a puppy from Pass Pets or Uncle Bill's. You will be purchasing an adorable puppy who is likely to have health and or temperament problems due to inbreeding and inferior breeding stock, not to mention being born in deplorable conditions. No animal deserves to be brought into or kept in this kind of life. Plus the puppies there are outrageously priced and "discounted" when they begin to get older and bigger and not so "cute." Any purchase made at one of those places continues the abomination of puppy mills. I can't imagine anyone buying from there after watching something like this. I wish there were some way we could make it mandatory! Little Blitzen, you are one of the lucky ones.

My Puggles came from an Amish "breeder" in Ohio. I got Petey from a "middle man" and Abby out of the paper. Her original owner got her from Pass Pets in the mall. Interestingly enough, they both have the same dad but different moms. I can't bear to think if Petey and Abby's moms were like Mable the Beagle who was rescued. If I ever get another dog, I will certainly adopt. What kind of sick person breeds a half blind, senior dog with very few teeth!!!
