Starfish READ!

OMG this is REALLY sweet! mom did not write it!!

One morning a young man was walking along the beach, his bare feet in the sane... He looked down the beach... In the distance, he could see someone dancing along the water's edge with a beautiful rhythmic movement...

As he got closer, however, he realized this person was not dancing... He could see her stooping to pick something up, running, and throwing the object into the waves... As he approached her, the man saw that she was picking up starfish on the beach and tossing them into the sea...

She stopped for a moment, as he asked, "What are you doing?"

"The tide is going out," she responded, "and these starfish stranded on the beach will die unless I cast them back into the sea..."

"But there are miles of beach and thousands of starfish," the man said... "You cannot possibly make a difference..."

Without responding, the girl bend over, picked up another starfish, and hurried it to the ocean. "It makes a difference to this one," she said....
