Yearly Exam

Mom just got back from taking Cooter and I to Dr. Cindy Baker at the Bargersville Veterinary Hospital. It was like the best day ever! I got to go on a big bye-bye, go to the vet, see my friend Dr. Cindy and her great staff, and Mom gave me a bath to get me all clean and "hussied" up before my big day. I got treats, and a PURPLE band-aid (where they drew my blood), AND SHOTS!!! Yeah, I am one "sick puppy". I actually like getting baths, going to the vet, and I don't even mind the shots so much. I would rather get shots than get my nails trimmed, which they did too, but I got peanut butter for being a good girl. Guess since I had to go to the vet so much when I was a puppy I just got used to it.

Dr. Cindy says I weigh 53.4(!!!!!!) pounds. My heart murmur is only at a level 2, no worse than last year, and over all I am very healthy. Yippieee!!!! She even said my teeth were pretty clean and I don't really need a dental. Of course she suggested that I might need more exercise and it wouldn't hurt to lose a few pounds but that I have a really soild, compact body and she wasn't too worried about it. Hear that Mom and Dad? So bring on the cookies!

You LIKE going to the vet????? Mercy me. I always act like they are getting ready to stab me with forks and pull my toenails out one at a time. You don't even shriek when they look at you? You are one good dog.

Yeah Sydney, I love that pooch, but there is something wrong with her. Dixie is so delusional that she even tells on herself when she is dirty and MAKES Mom give her a bath. The whole vet and shot thing is such a disgrace I can't even discuss it. Not me. I have more street smarts than that. You won't get me no where or do no thing I don't want to without alot of grunt work on your behalf. I don't go to your extreme but I do freeze and drop to the floor. I go for the "stiff dog glued to the floor" defense. Maybe next time I will try your tactics, Sydney. Does it work or do they get what they are after anyways like they do me?
