Baking soda works best on my carpet! You can't tell at all- and it's cheap. You just sprinkle on and vacuum it up! They make one specifically for pets, but I think you could use regular baking soda.

Check out my review of cleaners in an earlier post. Click here to read it http://www.indypaws.com/post/index/7528
I still think Kids N Pets works best.

The hard part about getting urine smell out is getting the cleaner all the way down to the pad. I read a long time ago that white vinegar works and use something like real diapers to absorb the liquid back up. If nothing else works you might try this.

We bought a carpet shampooer b/c it is the only thing we found it worked. They have handheld ones for about $30.00, and it's been a great investment.

This is exactly why I no longer have any carpet! Laminate, hardwood, and vinyl for us.

Mom says the looks of her carpet ain't worth trying to save but she don't want it to stink. Mom uses the multi-purpose cleaner Fantastic. It is antibacterial and seems to take care of any smell. She just sprays it on and scrubs a little then leaves a towel on top until it dries. Now watch out, it has never "bleached out" any areas on our carpet, but it might so use with caution if you actually care what your carpet looks like.
