Please recommend a vet.

Carolina on Health - Wed, October 17 2007

We moved here about two months ago and my parents have been busy with refinishing the floors and painting walls in my new house. Today Mom realized that it is nearing the time to see the vet for some vaccination updates so I will stay healthy and more importantly so that I can keep going to the Bark Parks. Is there a vet practice that anyone would recommend? While we don't mind driving a ways for a vet we love (I love going for rides), we live in the Castleton area--really close to Lucky Dog Retreat. Any feedback positive or negative would be hugely appreciated!

We frequent the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic and see Dr. Neumann. He is a great clinician and is good about calling with test results even when they're normal and good about returning phone calls. www.bracpet.com

We also live in Castleton and go to Allisonville Animal Hospital. Dr Ward is our favorite. It is just north of Allisonville and 96th St. Stevie and his family also go there and they drive a long way to get there!! They are very compassionate and don't seem to be in it for the money.

Just north of 96th and Allisonville Rd...Allisonville Animal Hospital. Just as Zoe said, they aren't after your money, but are a very updated and nice facility. We typically see Dr. Short and I'd recommend either Dr. Short or Dr. Ward who owns the practice.

I go to Avalon Animal Clinic on Shadeland, right by Lowe's. Mom has been taking her dogs here since she was 5 (well she didn't start paying for it until she was 25 but I digress). I really like the vet Dr. Tucker, her name is different now or Dr. Mitchell, who's been there forever. They are really nice and very professional.

My Mom takes me to the Castleton Pet Clinic at 82nd and Bash. I see Dr. Carolyn Shay. She is wonderful and so is her staff.

We just went to For the Love of Dogs dog bakery to meet with the traveling vet; its very inexpensive and they even had the new generic heartworm tabs! They travel to a lot of pet stores in Indy...check it out here...
