Walking with friends

My mommy wants to take me for a walk but is scared cause i have a rod in my hind leg. I got loose and got hit by a car. It broke my leg but, now its fixed. But she is scared that it is too early for it. I got my leg fixed last month. She is also scareed that i might over do myself when walking and might get over excited and hurt myself.She would like to have another doggie to walk with us so i can socialize more. Can someone please help her?
