We got back from Tybee Island on Sunday, after spending Saturday night at Dad's brother's house in Charlotte, NC. It sucked for me. They had a dog park, but that was a joke. I really wish Mom had gotten around to taking a picture of it, it was horrid. It wasn't even the size of my back yard, white picket fence, lumpy with patches of mulch, and hardly any grass. That Sunday they took me for a walk, and it was actually hot that day. I stepped on a nasty sand spur, and while Mom was holding me and Dad was taking it out, I jerked my head back and popped Mom in the mouth, busting her lip (she has braces, so that just added to the agony). I was really sorry, but that thing hurt! Then, they'd go out for a while, leaving me in the concrete cottage, as Mom called it, and come back smelling like seafood. I had to give them a good balling out when they got back every night. Then on Wednesday, it rained ALL DAY! I ended up pooping on the screened in patio/porch since I refuse to go out in the rain because I will melt! Friday was our last day there. Mom and Dad took me into Savannah with them. We went to Clary's for breakfast and the waitress spoiled me rotten, and lots of people that worked there came out to see me. I didn't like being so close to the traffic on the street and was barking a lot, so halfway through, I had to go to the car (at least it was cool enough for me to go!) I pooped in Colonial Park Cemetery, and walked around in front of Mercer House. Then we went back out to Tybee and I walked around the lighthouse, and barked at one of the cats that was under a car. Then on my last night there, I stepped on another spur or something and was limping really bad. Mom was worried about me all night because she couldn't tell if I still had something stuck in there or it was just a sore. I wasn't limping as bad Saturday until later Saturday night when I was playing with Missy at Dad's brother's house. Sunday, I slept all the way home, and it was a long nap since it took us 11 1/2 hours to drive there. I was SO HAPPY when we pulled into the garage! I knew I was home and couldn't wait to get out of that car! Yesterday, Mom took off work as a recovery day, so I took care of her, and made sure my yard was all right after being gone a week. Now, I'm hoping it's not too cold to go to the bark park on Saturday morning. It's good to be HOME!
