Interested in some Pet Artwork?

Alena on Behavior - Mon, October 08 2007

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd make a post on here about the artwork I've been doing. I'm not looking to advertise myself...well, I guess I am, but it's for something fun and totally pet related (it's a hobby on the side...not really suitable for IndyStar classifieds)...and you all are the biggest group of pet lovers that I think might be interested!!

I specialize in taking photos of pets/people/etc (pets and people are my favorites!) and turning them into drawings (graphite, charcoal, colored pencil) or paintings (acrylic or oil).

I thought since the holidays are coming up, some of you might be interested in getting a portrait painted of your wonderful pooch or kitty as a gift for someone or for youself!

Feel free to PM me to see examples of my work and for more information.

Thanks, Alena

LOL--I love your artwork Ash!!

I did have a painting auctioned at the Institute of Psychiatric Research 50th Anniversary Gala. The Psychiatry Director purchased it for $1000--of course, it was a painting of the building (which will be demolished in the next 5 years)...it would have looked really bad if he hadn't bought it...LOL!

I would be interested in a Delilah painting....I can just picture it. Jude too...that would be crazy....

(the ORIGINAL, not that fake wanna be art school they have now, on the IUPUI campus! haha!)my art became grooming and training dogs, his is ...well, you name it, LOL. (you have seen some of his work, you know! ;o)

I had some kitten 'artwork' last summer. ; ) Little boogers liked to step in their poop and make poopie-paw decorations around the bathroom. There's reasons I don't let the little ones on carpet...

I do artwork with my pee...no kidding! I walk while I pee and sometimes it's rather pretty...

Pee and poo artwork...now that's classic. Sort of like the Andy Warhol piece at his museum in Pennsylvania.

I suppose I could post some examples....

Hey Hoover, too bad Koolaid isn't so good for pets. 'Cuz if it was, you could do pee art in all sorts of different colors. At least lots of red koolaid makes small children turn their diapers pink... My mom had NOTHING to do with it, just the aftermath of the clean-up. ;P

Totally cool!! I have always wanted to have this done! I'm going to have a friend of mine do some pics of the girls in November, if I can work it in. I'll try to get a good one for this! I've always wanted one of Beverly with pearls, sitting on a pillow like some royal heiress! Wouldn't that a be a hoot hanging in my living room?! :) (Now, that I have Minnie, it will have to be 2 royal heiresses.) Maybe I'll get one of Butch wearing a crown!

Sydney and I did a painting once. We put our paws in some dog-friendly kind of paint (like finger paint) and then mom smooshed our paws onto a big piece of heavy paper. We also got to walk on it. It freaked Sydney out. Big surprise. She's kind of histrionic. But enough about us. Mom would love to see your work.
