Dad was really brave yesterday and took us to the blessing of the pets at church. I say brave because Mom wasn't there to supervise. Mom was with Dayzee at adoptions but told dad that we needed all the help we could get(whatever that means). It was fun and we saw quite an assortment of pets. There were plenty of cats and dogs there. Hamsters, guinea pigs, snakes and even a gecko in a cage. The funniest was a real live sheep. Luckily we're not herding dogs so we weren't too interested in it. Dad said that it's mom had died and the people had bottle fed it. It lived in their house just like a dog! We were pretty good. Chase felt the need to bark every so often like after every word in the sign of the cross. It went like this-In the name of the Father-bark, and of the Son-bark and of the Holy Spirit-bark bark Amen-bark bark bark. Father Scott said he used to have a dachshund growing up. He came around and sprinkled us with holy water and gave us individual blessings. Mom said that they were probably trying to exorcise Chase with the holy water and wondered if it burned his skin-ha ha. After we did that, we went home and waited for the puppies. It turns out they need to go back to the vet on Monday so they won't be here until Tuesday. I can't wait cuz I love puppies!
Maybe Chase was channeling Maggie yesterday...sounds like you guys had fun! I take it there wasn't any Linda Blair action in the home after the festivities?
My mom asks grandma to take us every year, but she never does. Always an excuse, like this year she said she can't take 10 animals to the church in her Ford Focus. Why not? Maybe she could take us in groups instead. I don't know...I'm glad you guys had a chance to go though.
