Tyranosaurus Riggs on Training - Tue, September 25 2007

So about a month ago I heard my mom talking about me....she doesn't like some of my special talents like jumping on her lap and pulling her down the street on walks. Darn it. I thought those things were fun ??? She's making me go to school now, she says its good bonding time for both of us. I'm going to Upton's K-9, which is on Southeastern. If anyone wants good training classes, my mom says you get 16 classes for $100.00, and she says that's awesome. So far I've been to 4 classes and I've learned to heel and sit and stay and lay down!!! Even though I liked pulling my mom down the street and watching her scream its kinda nice to walk with her now. And school is fun, I'm making some new friends, even if they're all usually bigger and badder than me! Anybody else been training with their humans?

Training....now there's a concept (hee hee). I went through training, but seem to have forgotten a lot of that "heel" stuff...I now have a "gentle leader" which sorta works. I hate to admit it, but my bro Charlie is much better on the leash than me; I'm pretty much a spaz and would rather just run around like a crazy guy.

Riggs, we are very proud of you! Training is fun because you get all of those yummy treats, and special time with your human. You are probably the star of the class like Professor Chase.

Mom thought about taking me about a year ago because I learn tricks with relative ease and it would be nice to not pull mom's shoulder out of socket. But now that we have the time, I'm losing my hearing, and the eyesight is worsening. Have fun and keep us posted!!
