I'm banning my mom

Gunner on Breeds - Sun, September 23 2007

My mom is no longer allowed to look at adoptable dogs online anymore! This includes the Humane Society, GABR, and any Shorthair rescue.

She was looking at the Humane Society website today and has fallen in love, once again. There's a 5 year old GSP up for adoption named Andy (which is a very special name to her).

I heard her contemplating trading Miles in (jokingly, of course)!

If you are looking for a dog, please look into this one, so my mom won't take him. http://www.indyhumane.org/animals/availabledogs.htm?id=3045417

Freckles and I are trying to ban our mom from looking at adoptable dogs online too. She keeps talking about a wasset and then came home from the Hamilton Co. Humane Society yesterday talking about a senior weiner dog. We'd love to help you out Gunner, but we have our own mom to keep under control.

My mom saw that GSP on the HSI website and thought of your mom the other day. She was wondering if you had seen it!

Yes, she has! And, she can't stop thinking about him. She's got it bad, even though she knows there's no more room in this house. Hopefully he'll get adopted soon.

OMG, Gunner. Your should never have posted this. That dog looks a lot like me. Mama has gone back to look at the pic several times. I keep telling her there is no room at the inn. I would love another buddy, but Casey is all I can handle. Dad won't let her. Thank goodness!

Seriously dudes. Sign my mom up for that ban. I heard her tell dad that she almost brought back a puppy with her yesterday as a foster. I thought the point of taking Dayzee to adoption day was to get rid of a dog not to come back with twice as many dogs! I told dad he should put parental controls on her PC so she can't access any animals sites. The good news is that the partially blind and deaf Doxie pup in Missouri has been adopted so she can quit worrying about him.

What is wrong with these humans? Last weekend she brought a little puppy home which she knows is against our rules. Even though she found a home for him within a day, it caused turmoil and anguish for us, her supposed loved ones. On Saturday I overheard her telling dad that she would have brought an ARPO dog home with her if she hadn't known how perversely we would have welcomed it. Hello??? No others need apply. I need Chase to come over and give her a stern talking to. Oh, wait a minute. He still has that poor Dayzee to torment, so I guess his track record is not so good. I feel your pain, Gunner.

My mom is always trying to help out other dogs instead of focusing on me! Two weekends ago, she brought in some large, black dog because she didn't want her getting hit by a car. Thankfully, she didn't stay too long. Plus, she's always talking about some cute dog she saw online. I swear, this is the last straw! I'm learning how to block websites tonight. Anyone want to join me?

Mom read about Omar on Dayzee's post Saturday, and now she keeps talking about him! I heard her tell dad she wants to go see him next time they have an adoption event. He's a Sharpei/Boston Terrier mix that looks like me, only with bigger eyes. Well, right now mom says she just wants to visit with him and Dayzee. RIGHT! That visit will have her hooked. I really hope she's busy during the next adoption event!!
