Grammar School junkie

RIP Freckles on My Blog - Wed, September 19 2007

Has anyone read the large Indiana Business College ad on this site for their Vet Tech program? Is it me, or is their first sentence grammatically incorrect?

"Do you got a thing for warm eyes and cold noses?" is the first frame of the ad. Is it an Indiana-ism?

Why does this sentence irritate me?? Thanks for letting me vent. Have a great day everyone!

I thought the SAME thing! It should be "Do you HAVE a thing ... Maybe they did it that way to attract attention to it, but it doesn't look too good for a college to have grammatical errors!

Bring and take is a pet peeve of mine and I hear/see it misused so often even in the paper and on TV. If you're going somewhere you take it with you. If you're talking to someone else, you ask them to bring it with them. And brung is not the past tense of bring.

Although my mama has not heard that commercial, it bugs her to death when something is grammatically incorrect or misspelled on TV. She says she sees it a lot on CNN and the national Fox news.

Thanks for pointing it out! we'll fix it IMMEDIATELY! I also hate misspellings and grammatical errors (so I apologize ahead for anyone who sees their postings adjusted once in awhile...I'm just changing spelling and grammar when I really can't stand it!)

Misuse of words and grammatical errors bug my mommy too! It would probably bug me if I could talk like people!

Mom here: I'm glad I'm not the only one with grammatical pet peeves. My BIG one is when people say "I seen" WRONG! WRONG!WRONG! It's "I saw" or "I have seen" or "I've seen". I haven't seen a website yet that doesn't have lots of these types of errors in them and they're supposedly done by professionals.

Grammar and bad spelling drive me NUTS. Oh my, I'm a little bit of a freak about it.

I make more errors when I speak than I do when I type. I always catch myself. I think that means I run my mouth faster than my brain!! :)

FIXED! And just for the record, that ad came to us complete from In.Biz College...we didn't create it here (tho we should've caught the error). Thanks for pointing it out!

The Princess agrees. No one speaks the King's English any longer. If you take a look, you will see that my mom's e-mail address is editbabe. God bless her. How appropriate!

So glad to know I am not the only one appalled by mistakes in grammar and spelling. It is most definitely NOT an Indiana-ism. My biggest pet peeve is the misuse of commas, as in comma's as a plural. ARRRGHGGHGH! And thank you site manager for fixing what you can before it reaches us.
