Millie Dog

Barney on Grief - Thu, September 13 2007

Well, mom went and picked up the beagle with cancer from the shelter. If she could live by sheer determination and spunk, she would be in perfect health. She loves sleeping on the couch. Mom has really gotten attached to her this past week. Millie is having some trouble breathing (lungs are clear, its all in the upper airway) and hasn't been eating as much the past few days, so she has made the appointment at the vet's office for Millie. At least she got to spend the last weeks of her life comfortable and loved and will be in the arms of someone who cares for her when she crosses the bridge.

Oh, now I'm crying. Bless your Mom SO much. Millie will remember her for all of her love and kindness when she's crossed over. She is a lucky girl to have your Mom care for her.

What a very loving mama you have. When Millie crosses the Rainbow Bridge she will be thinking about your mama, and will be waiting for her to thank her for her last kindness.

I got all teary-eyed reading this. How wonderful of your mom to take care of Millie and make her last days loving and comfortable. Your mom is such an angel to put her heart out like that.

Barney, you have a really good mommy. My mommy has done this for 2 poodles. they were 14 and no one else wanted them at the shelters. She loved them very much. You would think after getting Little Bit the first time and her having heart problems (mommy loved her alot) that she wouldnt want to go through the hurt again. But, she did, We then got Abby. Her feet were deformed and the lady at the shelter told her she was the worse case of neglect she had ever seen. Mommy took her home and loved her even though she went blind and lost her hearing. She was a real spunky little girl right up till she passed away. It takes a really big heart to do that.
