My family's home!!!

Blitzen on My Blog - Mon, September 10 2007

I'm so excited! They didn't abandon me after all. It wasn't too bad the first night because there are lots of good smells at Grandpa's and he gave us lots of treats. Then we went to sleep and got up and still no Mom. Where is she? I have to have my mommy snuggles in the morning after I potty. I guess Grandpa didn't know that so I just sulked. Mostly I hid behind the couch in Pablo's secret hiding place. Too bad mom and dad cleaned it out last week so there wasn't any candy or anything like that. It was nice and quiet and dark though. On Saturday night, Chase decided to act a fool. He waited until Grandpa went to bed. We had to sleep in our crates while Pebbles and Pablo slept in the big bed with Grandpa. He even let Hootie loose while we were in our crates. That was kind of scary! He's really big but he was nice to me. He just hates Chase I guess. mom says it's because he has delicate ears and Chase's barking makes his ears bleed. Anyway, they were all loose and we were all locked up at night. So every so often, Chase would bark at nothing just to stir everybody up. Then Hootie would come running out to the front room and start barking too. Then the little P dogs would climb out of bed and start barking. I don't think Grandpa liked that so much. We didn't go to sleep until after 1 in the morning! Then we ate breakfast and I hid behind the couch some more while Chase barked. Then finally mom and dad came and got us. Grandpa said he only held me 2 times because I was too busy hiding from him. I'm not sure why because I really like grandpa. Maybe it was the storms making me scared. But we all lived through it and all of us slept in the big bed last night. Mom and Dad gave Grandpa a picture of us with a Happy Grandparent's Day card when they picked us up. He thought it was really cute. Thanks Grandpa and gang for letting us visit. Life is good when mom and dad are both home.

Glad you had a good time hiding behind the couch. Being home with mom and dad is THE BEST!!!!

We are glad you survived, little Blitzen. Our mom has been talking like she and dad are going away at the end of the month to visit our human sister. She is a wolf trainer, so sometimes she scares me. She doesn't take any s**t off of anyone! Our crazy Aunt Carolyn might come to stay with us, and that is ALWAYS an adventure. She smells like our brother Spyder, and a couple of other dogs I am afraid of, and many cats, and a little person, and about 15 birds. She is a busy one! But I don't want mom and dad to go anywhere without me. Do you think I will be okay like you are since your folks are back and nothing bad happened?

My mama and dad went camping with her royal highness and all round pain in the bum, Peaches, over Labor Day! Not that I'm jealous, mind you, because we had it made here at home without 'em. My human brother played with us all the time and we played with his doggies, Shyanne and Rescue. Rescue is a doxie and not quite a year old. He's really fun to play with. It was probably the storms that had you hiding like that. I was glad to see my mama and dad when they got home, but Peaches came back with 'em....phooey!
