The Betrayal

RIP Freckles on My Blog - Mon, September 10 2007

This new job mom's got has been weighing on my big head lately. She comes home and smells like all sorts of things!

This afternoon she came home and I think I sniffed every inch of exposed skin and clothing. There was something that was definitely NOT right about her...

So mom confesses that she went to a house where there was a dog that she pet and loved on and it gave her kisses! (It even knocked her over when she bent down to get soemthing out of her bag) HOW DARE SHE! She doesn't even let me kiss her! I can't believe she lets strangers' pets walk all over her and kiss her!

Any of your moms/dads interact with strangers' animals at their work? Don't they know "Stranger Danger??" How do you cope?

Our mommy has a co-worker who sometimes brings his dogs into work and she comes home and Rudy and I go nuts! Our mommy is just like yours, she will not let us give kisses. We can give her hugs though. You will get use to her new smell, all though it maytake a while. Bark at ya later.

Oh dear god! This has been an issue for as long as I can remember. Humans somehow think we won't know when we've been cheated on. With noses like our, and ESPECIALLY like yours Freckles, we don't need any lipstick on the collar to know what's going on. Mom volunteers with rescues and she seems to know no one who doesn't have at least 1 dog, and she visits them all on a routine basis. Now that she has this business thing going, she is seeing other people's dogs more than she is seeing us! She lets them kiss her, and knock her over, and paw at her, and lie on top of her, and heaven knows what else. It is always interesting when she comes home, however, because we can check out who she has met. The best was when she used to come home from a day of volunteering at Wolf Park. She would smell like wolves, foxes, and coyotes, and sometimes her face would have been licked by them! Got our little hearts pitter-patting, I tell you!

I suppose I can chalk it up to something positive. At least I can smell other dogs and cats without actually sniffing their behinds. You know, THAT would take energy. I also get to stay home while mom brings me the smells...I can sleep all day and sniff all night. Like internet shopping...but different!!

Mom works with a lady who has two Airedale Terriers and she sometimes brings them to work. Mom will pet them and stuff, and I go sniff-crazy when she gets home. My Mom loves on me so much, I kinda forgive her.

When my mama and dad go to my granny's house, she has two dogs. When they get home, we really give them the sniff test. AND sometimes, we smell pork chops on them too. Mama says my granny makes the best pork chops...however, I wouldn't know. HUMMMMPH!
