What a great weekend! Besides the rain it couldn't have been any better. Yesterday Mom and Dad took us for a car ride down south to a little town just outside Columbus. When we got there I got to meet a bunch of family I didn't even know I had! I met my Grandma Esther for the first time. They call her "Momma Esther", she is my Dad's chosen Mom. She thought I was a really nice handsome boy, of course, and gave me and Dixie lots of treats and love. I also got to meet my dog aunt Lucy, my human aunt Tina, and my human cousin Mackinzie. We all had a blast playing together. Mackinzie loves dragging my sissy Dixie around by her leash and she was sneeking me bites off her dinner plate until we got caught by Grandma and we both got in trouble. It was such a great trip and I am so glad we went but I guess sometimes it kinda makes my Momma sad. My Dad's father lived there but he passed away a few months ago. Momma says it is still sad for her to visit his home and him not be there. Dad wishes that Papaw could have met me, he says he would have thought I was "one cool dude". How lucky I am to have found such a wonderful forever home and extended family. Guess what!?!?! This is just the half of it! Mom tells me I still have grandparents on her side of the family I haven't met yet!!! Hummm....maybe a road trip to Monrovia is in store next weekend??? ☺
