Food Rain Down - A Poem

Beauregard on My Blog - Fri, August 31 2007

(with sincerest apologies to the members of Collective Soul for mangling such a great song as Shine)

Give me some kibble,
Give me a treat.
Give me what I sniff,
Tell me what will I eat? (It smells like feet!)

Fling it on the ground,
Or toss it in the sky;
Or over a cliff.
Tell me what will I bite? (Maybe all night ...)

[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh.]
(woof!)
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh-dut! Dut!.]
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh.]
(arf!)
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh-dut! Dut!.]

Woo-o-oh, biped let the food rain down.
Woo-o-oh, I really want a treat right now.
Woo-o-oh, won't you let the food rain down.
Woo-o-oh, I really need to eat right now.

Food is in my water,
Food is in my hair.
Oh boy! My favorite!
Tell me, is more food there? (In the chair?)

Teach me how to speak!
Teach me how to stay!
Teach me how to sit!
Tell me, is more on the way? (Should I bay?)

[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh.]
(woof!)
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh-dut! Dut!]
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh.]
(arf!)
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh-dut! Dut!.]

Woo-o-oh, biped let the food rain down.
Woo-o-oh, I really want a treat right now.
Woo-o-oh, won't you let the food rain down.
Woo-o-oh, I really need to eat right now.

Give me some food!
Give me some grub!
Give me some treats!
Enough to fill up a tub! (Just don't scrub!)

Feed me from your hand,
Or put it in a bowl.
Toss it on the ground
Enough to sate a hungry troll. (Or large foal ...)

[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh.]
(woof!)
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh-dut! Dut!]
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh.]
(arf!)
[Duh, duh-de-duh-duh, de-duuh-de-de-duh-dut! Dut!.]

Woo-o-oh, biped let the food rain down.
Woo-o-oh, I really want a treat right now.
Woo-o-oh, won't you let the food rain down.
Woo-o-oh, I really need to eat right now.

I'm gonna eat it up
I'm gonna eat it up
Cause I am one perpetual-hungry pup!
Oh boy! Oh boy! I am one perpetual-hungry pup!
It's gonna raaaaaain, kibble on me-he-he! Me-he-he!
It's gonna raaaaaain, kibble on me!!!!

Genius... When you and Perl get your record deal, don't forget us. I'm thinking-
Beau and Perl- Live from the Paw. And if Mama may make a suggestion---Beagle Queen (with apologies to Abba)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: "No more f****** ABBA!" - Terence Stamp, "Priscilla Queen of the Desert"

You guys are cracking me up!! Ernest - I now have the "Beagle Queen" song stuck in my head. I'm seeing Perl on a throne with a crown surrounded by Grands biscuits and pig ears while that song plays in the background! :)

Thanks! I love 90s alt-rock! Oh boy! My favorite! Maybe I can convince Perl to do something from Belly!

I know... Abba-Yuck...but Mama thought it would be funny. She too has Beagle Queen running through her head. Or perhaps something by Queen. Mama's working through Fat Bottom Basset :0) Beagleheim Rhapsody???

ahhh...this is a work of art. Mom says Dolly Parton did a cover of this song and Mom would rather hear Beauregard sing it!

The large male biped here. Excuse me for a bit, but I need to wipe the tears from my eyes because of "Fat Bottomed Basset". The Electric Amish have nothing on us!

Fortunately, for me & Boomer, Mom doesn't know the music to that song. (whispering) She's old.

nadji, have your mom go to http://www.seeqpod.com/ and search for "collective soul shine". The live versions aren't as good as the studio version.

Nadji, our mom is old too, but that doesn't keep her from appreciating such fine poetry. She did hear of a song by them called "December Rain." Is this the same one? And Fat Bottom Basset might just be the hit of the century!
