You should run barking from the house at once! Don't let them trick you into bringing even one tiny little animal into your house. I used to be an only dog then this one needs a home, and this other one needs a place to stay. Oh look how cute he is, let's take him for a little bit. I'm telling you right now. It's a slippery slope that you can't get off of without another animal living in YOUR house. You should probably bite your parents for even considering it. Granted you'll get in some trouble for biting but it's nothing compared to what you'll get with a sibling.
I agree completely with Chase. When I got to my house, there were 2 ancient dogs, both of whom died shortly after I got there. I swear, I had nothing to do with it. I had a really sweet gig going for about 3 months, being the only dog in the house (and after all, do the cats really count?), and then BAM! We go on a long ride and come home with my sister Sydney. She tried to kill me in the parking lot where we met, and mom STILL brought her home. I don't mean to be a big harbinger of doom, Dixie, but this could get ugly.
