Where'd mommy go?

RIP Freckles on My Blog - Tue, August 14 2007

Ok, so get this. Mommy and daddy made me get up super early this morning from my beauty sleep and then all of a sudden, they were both gone while it was still dark outside. Maggie didn't even get out of the big bed when they left. I thought they just left to get me some more snacks or a fluffier pillow, but nobody came back. I did notice that daddy took the portable Indypaws box with him. Well, as Maggie and I realized they weren't coming back, we also realized they forgot our breakfast!!! Oh the horror! I went back to sleep to at least dream about yummy snacks.
Daddy did finally come home after making dog food money, but mommy wasn't with him. He said that she went to go see Grandpa in California. Something about a new addition to the family. I don't want another brother or sister (Maggie's enought to handle!). I learned that it's another biped family member. So, because we missed breakfast, daddy has spoiled us tonight and given us a couple extra treats and how I'm in mommy's spot in the big bed. Sweeeet. Daddy told us to not get too comfy because we're going to stay with "Aunt" Julie and cousin George on Friday for a few days. As long as I get to stay on the big bed, I won't mind. I hear they have a temperpedic bed too!!

Yeah! I'm already super small...I can't miss my meals! Freckles obviously didn't see mommy with her suitcase last night. Daddy's been saying that he's a single father and it's tough work. It's only been one day! Freckles and I are gonna have to whip him into shape.

California? My mama says that's really far...I'm sure glad my mama didn't go that far away. I sure hope your Dad knows where all the treats and food are...my dad does...he feeds us every night. Now that I think about it, mama can go to California, but Dad has to stay here.

There's been a couple posts about moms leaving lately. I hope my mom doesn't go anywhere, not even for a night!

My mommy's not going anywhere. I had a talk with her last night about this exact topic, Minnie! I was getting nervous. She assured me that she wasn't going anywhere. Whew! Daddys are NOT the same. Mine doesn't give me kissies.

Hoover, our mom isn't going anywhere. Minnie is being paranoid! I know what you mean about kisses. Mom kisses our snouts all the time. I think dad thinks she's gross. He never kisses our snouts. Mom's addicted though, especially to my "chubby chomps" (as she calls them)!

Portable IndyPaws box...took Mama a minute to figure that one out. I don't know why. At least you can stay home while your Mama is gone. I have to go to Grandma's when mine goes somewhere. I don't think she has ever been to California. She went to a place called Tennessee for a few days. Grandma was sure I was going to perish from missing Mama. Be sure to whip Dad into shape. Does he bake?? Perhaps a double dose of doggie guilt can get him to whip up some of the Mama Biscuits. We could temporily rename them Freckles and Maggie's Daddy Biscuits :0)

I know. My mommy is the life blood of my survival. I was promised today that mommy would be home next week, though. I kid, but daddy isn't that bad. He actually gives us more treats than mommy does....and he lets us sleep in the big bed with him. He says I'm his alarm clock in the morning.

Our dad really doesn't bake a lot. He does grill meat a lot, though. I like it because sometimes, small pieces or juice drips onto the deck and I snatch it up. Yummy! I think I saw some raw meat marinating in the icebox today. I've gotta go outside to scope out a good spot by the grill.
