yum-o! kitty poo

Titus on Behavior - Mon, August 13 2007

OK, so I can't possibly be the only pup on here that has a fondness for kitty poo. Mom's starting to get concerned about how much scoopable cat litter that I've ingested in the last few weeks. First off she put up the babygate then she put a hook and eye latch on the bathroom door, but no matter what she tries i still find a way to get into the litterbox. With Regina and Jordan Mom has to clean the litterbox at least once a day. Does anyone have any suggestions about what she can try next to keep me away from the litterbox?

Oh WOW, my cousin, Baby, who is a puggle, found some kitty-poo in her yard yesterday and she ate it all up!! Did she ever get in trouble! She got put in her crate and every time she asked to be let out, her Mommy said, NO, you have POOPY-BREATH!!!!

I don't think I would eat the kitty-poo, but I might like to roll around in it!!!

Taijah is fond of goose poo. She has never eaten kitty poo but likes to roll in it. Ewww! I'm sorry but I don't have any suggestions.

I have no suggestions as we do not have any cats...but I recall several other dogs here who are obsessed with "kitty krunchies." Maybe Kirby Corgi will respond to your post...he's one of the resident poop eaters on here!

Cat poop is the BEST! Those cats have one of the automatic litter boxes, which keeps us out of it a little bit, but it has a 10 minute delay from the time the cat uses it to the time it scoops. We can tell time. However, mom frequently just closes the bathroom door so we can't even go in there. All 3 cats know to scratch on the door if they need to use the box.

My momma is laughing as she types this! All the dogs in our house are poop eaters! Heck yeah! Kitty poo is the best!!! Ya know what though, my favorite thing to do with it is to pick it out of the litter box while she is at work and put it in her bed for when she gets home! I thought this was a wonderful thing to do for her, a nice treat after work but she doent seem to think so. I just dont understand. You get any wonderful ideas on how to keep us out, she would like that info. Oh yeah.... it's also fun to lay on top of it and roll around to get all stinky! HEHEHEHEHE :)

Heehee, you haven't met Kirby yet, have you?? He waxes poetic about poo all the time! He even got stuck in a window well because he was huntin poo.

How about putting the litter pan in a closet and putting a small, kitty door on the closet that's too small for the dogs to get thru?

Oh I love Kitty poo! Its my FAVORITE! Dad keeps me out of the cats room though because I would kill for that stuff. Maybe I will try to sneak in there tonight.

Oh, I'm here!!! I LOVE POOP!! Especially cat poop! Now, I don't think that ingesting scoopable litter is good for you, though. If you're going to be a regular litter box cleaner, which is nice for your mom, you'd probably tell her to switch to the clay kind...Less sticks on the poop and it won't expand in your tummy. Any other poop questions?

Oh, and Charlie....MUST you tell everyone about the window well incident? Sheesh.

I do enjoy a good cat poo snack myself! Every morning I go straight to the litter box to see if I have been left any treats! Unfortunately for me....mom is on to my game and purchased the "CleverCat" top entry litter box....now I can only get the poos that end up on the floor outside on the litterbox (Res Ipsa has really long hair and occasionally and poo will stick in it until she shakes it off onto the floor). The CleverCat top entry boxes basically look like gray rubbermaid storage boxes, but they have a lid that goes on top with groves to trap litter a kitty sized hole in it, so we pooches have a hard time getting at the poo. The litterboxes are sold at Petsmart and Petco (and possibly elsewhere), they normally sell for about $30 and if Titus is still able to get at the poo (because he looks like he might be tall enough to snake his head into the box)....put the top loader on a table, or on the dryer....that way, he definitely won't be tall enough to get his head in there.

I also think that kitty poo is the most delicious thing in the world - I sometimes prefer eating kitty poo to my dry food!

Mom and Dad are mean, though - they have a litterbox with a lid, and are even thinking about putting a kitty door on the closet door so that only the kitties can get to their litterbox, not me...but they haven't yet, so game on!

Hi All, we're laughing at most of the posts on this topic :) The lidded litterbox probabley wouldn't work so well because both Regina and Jordan are giant lumps of kitty. they wouldn't be able to fit in there. And mom has thought about the closet kitty door option but we live in an apartment and the landlord wouldn't care for that I don't think. Mom found something called a scat-mat it's meant to teach your cats to stay off your counter tops. She's thinking of getting one and putting it on the side of the babygate that I keep pushing down.
