I am cranky too because of the heat. Today I growled at my good friend Bingly, just because it was just so hot!
Whether it's hot or not, my mom gets IRATE when people give their pets away over kids. She grew up with dogs and was taught you don't mess with them. How can people with treat us like children then just give us away? Our little hearts get broken.
Momma told her ex once when he was being extremely obnoxious and dissing her dogs, "I had dogs before I met you and I will have dogs long after you're gone". He's gone and we're here---how about that? Momma had to find an apt to live in, and her first concern was finding a nice, affordable one that would allow pets. Yay for our Momma !!! Our Uncle G says that Momma has a gift with animals, and loves us SO much.
I typed a thing on there and then deleted it. Sometimes, I think it's best to just ignore those posts. Rarely does it ever help to say anything. It's frustrating. Normally, those turn into a big argument, and the person makes another post to tell everyone else to quit posting, and then the Site Manager tells everyone to be nice... Too much drama. I don't know why the person who made the post can't just ignore the comments they don't like, and leave it at that!
i already knew what *sigh* meant, LOL!!! but, yes, it gets annoying. i have been guilty myself of going off on people about getting *rid* of their pets like that too, but i have been trying to do like beverly said, and just don't comment at all. "DON'T FEED THE TROLLS", is a good line i read on other message boards, LOL. it basically means don't feed into the people who are seeming to bait you, to get into a heated conversation. i really think a lot of people will do that, when they get defensive over a few comments they didn't like. anyhow, i'm going to TRY not to comment too much, but i will also say that i'm not the type to pacify people. i call em like i see em. ;o)
I don't think you were crabby or rude, Yogi. It just seems like most people who write those posts get all crappy if anyone says anything other than "I'll take the dog". Good luck going back to school. I'm crabby every morning I have to go to work! (I need a career change.) Speaking of diets - I started WeightWatchers 2 weeks ago. First week, I did good Monday, blew it and gained a pound. This week I did good Monday and Tuesday and then blew it. Haven't weighed yet today, but I probably gained again. Maybe this week I can go for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday! :) I'm just hopeless (and chubby)!!
