I will definitely consider this my mini miracle for the year....
My new neighbor (whom I've never met) stopped by my house last night to inform me that my cat possible had kittens in her garage . I do have a cat, but she's spayed, indoor only and almost 13 years old . I was very surprised that a cat in my neighborhood had kittens as everyone seems very responsible for their pets. My poor neighbor is not fond of cats and neither is her husband so I retrieved four hungry, dirty kittens from the garage and transfered them to my garage for safety until I could get them to a shelter today.
Much to my surprise, Vegas was very frantic when the kittens cried. I kept them separated all night but due to the hot weather I felt it necessary to bring Vegas, the pups and the kittens to work with me today. Again, Vegas would not leave the kittens alone! Once my vet checked out the kittens I allowed them to visit Vegas and the results are clear (check out her photos)!
This is the most heartwarming story I've heard this week... amazing what animals will do for each other! We humans could learn a lesson or two from our animal friends!
Yay Vegas! What a good Mama!
