Plain Yogurt...off topic

RIP Freckles on My Blog - Wed, August 08 2007

Okay, mama here: I may have been over-zealous with my purchase of plain low fat yogurt for Freckles. Since she only eats one teaspoon every other day, what do I do with the big QUART I bought last week? I'm not a big fan of plain yogurt in its natural form, so any tips/ideas for either humans or dogs is appreciated!

Well, I've tried mixing it with canned meat (I think I tried tuna) instead of making tunafish salad with mayo & pickles. So maybe you could try that & add some relish to mimic the taste of the 'good stuff'? Plus it's healthier..

Or what about mixing blueberries and strawberries in it for a homemade version of the fruit & yogurt cup they sell at McD's?

Good luck!!

GOOD QUESTION!!! i was JUST telling my hubby last night that they should make them in smaller tubs, LOL, because i never use them up. i've put some fruit in a bowl, and put some on top, and it was pretty darned good, actually! one thing i was thinking was i wonder if you can maybe put teaspoon fulls in baggies, or on freezer paper, and freeze it??? kinda like a treat for the dogs, like doggie ice cream? i might try that! :)

Good Idea, JJ! Maybe I'll try making "Poor Dog's Frosty Paws!" Hey, do ya think we can market that??

We have mixed "Hidden Valley Ranch" seasoning (it comes in a packet) with it before to make a dip for veggies. It's not too bad.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! I had to sweeten the yogurt with some Splenda (just can't get used to the tangy taste!!) and chopped up a mango, and mixed it in. Yum! Only problem is Freckles followed me around and sat in front of me the entire time watching me eat HER yogurt. heehee. Bev, I'm gonna try the Ranch dip this evening...we always have the powder around to use when we make popcorn!
