Volunteering is alot of fun!

Elwood on My Blog - Tue, August 07 2007

Mommy did her first day of volunteering with the rescue she got me from on Saturday and it was alot of fun. They found homes for 4 out of 10 doggies and one big fat kitty. She had no idea volunteering could be so rewarding!

My mom volunteers for a couple of rescues/shelters, and she says that it's the best. We have foster kitties from Cats Haven in our house, and sometimes it's sad to see them go to new homes. We get so attached to them. But mom knows that when she helps get an animal in its new forever home, she's making a difference not just for the animal, but for the family, too. That dog or cat will be someone's companion for many, many years, and might see kids go from elementary school through college. I'm a rescued dog and my mom adopted me, so I know what it's like to be in a shelter and waiting for a home. It's awful. But if I can get adopted, anyone can!! Keep up the good volunteering work! And thank you from me and all my animal friends. - Doe Doodles
