I know it is not "poem day" but Dixie is really upset about not getting to play outside or go on rides because of the super hot weather. She needed an outlet for her feelings of frustration so here is her poem about the heat☺
Heat, heat, please go away
Mommy won't let me outside to play
Birds and squirrels are invading the yard
Because I can't be outside on guard
Heat, heat, why does it have to be so hot?
I ask Dad to let me out, and he says "I think not!"
"Take me for a ride" with brown puppy eyes I beg and plea
"No, no" Mommy says, "too hot for you, too hot for me!"
Heat, heat, even in the morning
Nothing to do but nap and even that is getting boring!
Onto the lawn longingly I gaze from the window
Mom says it won't last forever, but, how long though?
Heat, oh horrible heat, please leave right away
All us puppies want is to be able to run and play!
