Mom is mad at Dad

Dixie LuLu on My Blog - Mon, August 06 2007

Mom is really mad at Dad. Mom wants to bring home a foster brother for me and Dad won't let her. There is this super sweet American Bulldog/Boxer mix at Wags rescue named Amir that needs a place to stay until he finds his forever home. Mom wanted to help out but Dad says no and he just won't budge! He says fosters never come into this house and just stay a foster, they always become permanent residence. And then he said something about the cost of food, you can't save them all, money and vet bills, blah, blah, blah. Mom said she might just bringing him home anyways.....you don't think Dad will divorce Mom if she does? I don't want have to live in a "broken home":(

ps-If you happen to be interested in giving Amir a forever home or even a foster home, PM my mom and she will pass along the information to you.
pss-He has pics on Dayzee the foster dog's profile if you would like to take a look at how handsome, cute, and sweet he his.

Uh oh! Lol. My sister Lily's new dad didn't want her at first. Because they already had a really old dog, and a one year old mixed breed dog. But her new mom just kept on him, for 3 weeks! Finally he told her to do whatever she wanted. Lol. Lily has the best home now, and her dad even likes her! Lol. but who couldn't? Tell your mom good luck, I hope you do get a foster brother.

My sister Maddie had a run in with him, but it was in no way his fault. She is just an evil demon dog. He was very, very sweet when she and our mom met him, and handsome, too! We are lucky to have the dad that we have. He always says, "Amy, if you need the dog, get the dog." She knows better than to get them all. Of course she also has a t-shirt that says "He said it was the animals or him. We miss him sometimes."

My mom can relate. Dad told her that SHE would be at the shelter if any more of us showed up. Mom says to keep bugging him and he will wear down, just not too much. Do it sneaky, so he doesn't see it coming!!

When I was looking at Minnie, my boyfriend (who is like my husband, we've lived together for 4 years) and his son both said we didn't need anymore dogs. I told them both they didn't pick up poo, have to pay for, or do much of anything to care for the dogs so it shouldn't affect them at all! We put the app in for her that day. I use the "I never had kids so I can afford to have as many pets as I want" line. He can't argue that because his son costs a lot more than my dogs (and is harder to train! :) ) You gotta find an edge! My boyfriend likes the dogs as much as I do anyway. I think he just doesn't like to show how soft he really is!
