My ears

I feel the same way. Docking the ears or the tail is not necessary. It is all about looks. I feel that if it is not necesary then why should you have it done. I am glad that your family chose not to.

Good for you! Ear docking is painful and not nessary. You'll be the best looking Doby in your neighborhood! Your parents must really love you!

I think the folded-over ear look is very cute on you! My family does not believe in ear and tail docking, so we are all very glad your parents decided not to put you through this painful process.

I think you are very good looking with floppy ears. I think dogs look better that way. My ears are like this naturally, but I think they go well with my blue eyes.

My brother Butch and I both have floppy ears. We aren't Doby's, but my parents won't have us any other way. They say that it makes us keep that "puppy" look.

Good for you Izzy! I am a boxer with beautiful floppy ears and trust me your parents did the right thing by not cropping. In most of Eurpoe it is now illegal to crop a dogs ears. Hopefully the US will follow that law. Plus there is an added benefit in that, every time I shake my head and my ears slap me on the side of my head and face my mommy cracks up! With parents that refuse to cut your ears and what a ppears to be a loving two legged sister, I think you hit the jackpot of loving homes! Good for you!

My mommy's best friend when she was growing up raised Dobermans and many of them had floppy ears. It is a personal choice but my mommy prefers when owners choose not to cut up their pups ears. I mean, look at me, i'm glad that she decided not to cut my ears...I just wouldn't look so darn cute (sorry i'm having one of my "diva" moments)!

YAY! My mom believes that except for spay/neuter (and unusual medical issues), animals should keep what parts they were born with. This includes tail docking and ear cropping on dogs, as well as no de-clawing of cats. My first humans 4-paw declawed me... my little paws are all chopped up looking and I have no traction when running around and playing, nor can I get a good scratch in. :(

I have floppy ears and everyone just loves me! Mom says I dont look scary this way. I'm glad because I dont want to be a scary dog!

Personally I am very pro tail dock, but I dont see the point in cropping, its very painful and not needed.
BUT I must say, I love the look of a nicely cropped Doberman. I just could not personally put my dogs through it.
I guess I am a bit of a hypacrit(no idea how to spell that)

Good for you! My mommy used to have a doberman puppy who looked just like you (the ex has her now...) but the ex made the doberman puppy Sophie get her ears clipped, mommy wasn't happy about that. She thought big floppy ears were cute, and that's how my ears are!

Awesome, I think Dobermans, Boxers and Pitbulls all look better with their natural floppy ears. Good decision.

You will look just as wonderful! Look at boxers, they don't crop their ears much anymore, we have two and I like their ears natural as God made them! Be proud!
