Don't worry about the heart medicine. Before my mom got me, she had a greyhound who was on three types of meds for congestive heart failure. He lived a long life after being diagnosed and medicine time sort of became like treat time. Mark's medicine was served in cooked ground beef. Enjoy the pepperoni and/or cheese "treat" :-)
Woof.....
Rebel, don't let this get you down. When I got to my forever home, the vet found a slight murmur in my heart. I didn't need medicine, but they always checked me whenever I was there. This winter the groomer thought I sounded like congestive heart failure. Of course dad took me to the doctor right away. They couldn't hear anything like that, and thought I had pneumonia. After some X-rays, they found that I had one enlarged chamber and some fluid build up. This fluid was pressing against my windpipe, and that's why I had my little cough. Now I am on two dilators, one diuretic, and one antihistimine.
I went to the doctor on Friday, and she said that I sounded wonderful. I guess I'll have to take those pills from now on, but wrapped in bread and peanut butter, they are pretty good.
Just take it easy, and follow your doctor's orders. You look handsome and smart, so I know you'll do just fine.
