The speed of the car slows and I can sense a change in direction. I rouse from my nap in the back seat. Carefully I sniff the air and take in my surroundings.....could it be? are we really? do I smell corn and cows? YES!!!! We are headed to Grandma's and Grandpa's. The excitment heightens and I am just sure if I catch the right breeze I can detect the slightest wiff of their scent. How I love to go visiting! They are such suckers for my cute face, pink lips, and sweet puppy kisses. When we finally arrive I get an extra jolt of enjoyment. Molly my favorite aunt and Emily, well lets just describe her as "the other one", are also there! And wait, what is this? My mom's Uncle Kevin! He came all the way from Arkansas just to see me?!?!?! This night just couldn't get any better. I am in puppy heaven. If I could just win over Emily. Oh well. Just keep sneaking me those snackies Grandma and I am sure I can manage to forgive your daughter for not being an animal lover. The grass is cool and green the air is clean and fresh....awww. After dinner I make another round for scratches behind the ear, pats, rub downs, and baby talk. How about we go play outside Dad? The huge yard is just beckoning me. So much room and new places for me to leave some special "Dixie biscuts". What a wonderful night. I couldn't help but replay it over and over in my happy little doggie dreams.......;)
