Mom MADE dog biscuits!!

Kirby on My Blog - Mon, July 30 2007

Thanks to Ernest T's mom, my mom made us homemade biscuits! They're awesome! I was totally under mom's feet while she was making them....the smell was intoxicating. She even added, are you ready for this....peanut butter!! The kitchen smelled like a little slice of Heaven. Life is good.

How long did it take to do that? I've thought about making my own treats but I hear it takes forever... but I love baking "people treats" so i can't see how much harder it could be...

Sounds yummy! Does that mean that peanut butter could change your views about poo? I love peanut butter!!

Mom just rolled the dough into small balls and flattened them on the cookie sheet! It tool about 1/2 hour to make them and 50 min. to bake! Very easy! And um, Freckles, I wanted mom to add some of Hoover's poop but she said that she'll stick with peanut butter....whatever.

I'm the only dog whose mom hasn't made homemade biscuits! I'm telling my mom to put peanut butter in them and use some rabbit poo as chocolate chips! Ooooh, my chomps are drippin!

I'm so glad you guys got them too, Kirby.

Mom didn't use peanut butter, but I will make her next time. Mom used beef broth instead of water. They were great!

Beverly, I'm sure you will get them soon. Hang in there. Crossing my paws for you!

BTW, they have been officially named Ernest T Mama biscuits.

Dang, Kirby. That was quick. I'm glad everyone likes them. Mama says it's the best $1.00 she ever spent. She got the recipe and a bone shaped biscuit cutter @ Target. Here Charlie, in case your Mama or anyone elses Mama(or Daddy) wants to make some. Here is the recipe henceforth known as Ernest T Mama Biscuits.

1/4C Hot Water or Meat Juices--
1/2C Powdered Milk--
1 Egg, Beaten--
1/3C Margarine--
1/2tbs Salt (optional)--
3C Whole Wheat Flour--

In a large bowl, pour hot water over margarine. Stir in powdered milk, salt, and egg. Add flour 1/2C at a time mixing well after each addition. Knead 3-4 minutes, adding more flour if necessary to make a very stif dough. Pat or roll to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into bone shapes (or cheat like me and roll into balls and pat flat). Place on greased baking sheet and bake @ 325 for 50 minutes. Allow to cool and dry out until hard.

I normally get 18-24 out of a batch if I use the cookie cutter. I have also added peanut butter or shredded cheese to make them a little tasty. Now, the waiting till they are cool and dried out is a little difficult with T cause he knows what they are. Hope everyone enjoys them

Mom made them pretty small cause we're not a big as T. She got about 50 small round biscuits about inch and a half wide. YUMMY!! Ernest T Mama biscuits are the BEST!!
