My baby Maggie don't feel good!!!

Maggie on Health - Sat, July 28 2007

Today, we took Maggie to the vet for her shots, and now she feels so sore, she can't even move. She's in too much pain to even lay down. What do we have to do? Can I give something so she can feel better? Can someone suggest a safe type of pain reliever for Maggie? She only weighs six pounds. I don't want see my baby in pain!! Please if someone can help us. Thanks.

PS: Our Vet is already closed for the weekend.

Have you tried calling the emergency vet yet? I know there's one on 86th and Michigan? I believe that's it. Just check in the yellow pages and give them a call. they should be able to tell you something over the phone. Good luck!

I agree. She's little but she shouldn't be in that much pain. some dogs don't tolerate vaccines well. She may be having an allergic reaction to something in them as well. Please call the emergency vets to get a recommendation. Here's the link to local emergency clinics. Let us know how she's doing.

I get sore from my shots, too. I cry when my mama tries to pick me up, I won't jump up on the couch, etc. My mama mentioned it to the vet, and he said she could give me 1/2 an aspirin to help with the soreness. He said the needle probably gave me a deep muscle bruise. That was two years ago. This year, my mama gave me 1/2 an aspirin right after getting our shots, and I wasn't as sore as before. I would call and double check with the ememergency vet, but aspirin worked for me.
