What a day!

Zeek on My Blog - Wed, July 11 2007

First, I got to go for a ride in the truck. It was cool enough this morning that I could wait 5 minutes in the truck at 7:30 for Mom to run into Lowe's and rent a Rug Doctor. Don't freak! She never does that if it's too hot or if she's gonna be more than 5 minutes!!!! That thing freaks me out, so Mom let me hang outside while she cleaned the carpet. She thought it was safe since I've gone about 2 1/2 weeks with NO accidents in the living room (well except for the poo in the living room on Saturday morning, but she wasn't paying attention and I went again shortly after she let me out). That's when it got a little hairy. She periodically checked on me. When she was done, she came out and I was GONE! She was out in the street barefoot calling and calling for me at the top of her lungs. Fortunately, she's got a really big mouth and I heard her from far away. Fortunately as well that I love her enough to come back because I came running all the way home down the street from over a block away. She hadn't activated my chip yet, and immediately did so over the phone as soon as we got in. I really scared her I guess because she was just getting ready to cry when she saw me coming back. I'm glad she didn't cry. Then, I guess as punishment because I can't think of a better reason, I got a BATH! We left in the truck again (because it was nice, I can see better out the window when seat belted in, and we could roll down the windows since there's no AC in the truck anymore like there is in the car) and she took me to Healthy Hounds at 79th and Fall Creek. It was pretty cool, or at least SHE thought so. I didn't think too much of that spray nozzle on that thing, but I was a lot softer and whiter when she was done. Mom was so happy because I didn't pee on anything in the store. Maybe that means I broke even for being so mouthy with the customer that came in after my bath. Tom gave me a treat and checked out my harness that I had on. After we left, Mom stopped at this drive thru thing at McDonalds and they gave her food through the window! I barked at them a lot, but they still didn't give me anything. What's the deal? Mom put up these gate things in the kitchen, to keep me out of the living room for the day, and I hung there all day. Whew, is it Friday yet? At least Mom will be off then. That guy that calls himself my daddy will be here for the weekend. I wasn't going to nip him this visit, but since Mom took me for a bath, I may have to reconsider. Then again, it's not his fault I guess.
