Wrigley on Behavior - Wed, May 09 2007

I am only 7 months but I know I have great potential to become a therapy dog when I get older. I am mellow and not a big lcker and I love to listen. My mommy isn't really sure on how to go about getting me into being a therapy dog, can someone help her?

Hi Wrigley

First of all you have to be a year old before you can get tested to be a therapy dog. But for now your Mom can take to some Obedience classes if she has not have taken you already. This will get used to people. You also need to know the Leave it command. That is a MUST because you don't want to go into a nursing home or a hospital and see like a human pill then you eat it and that will make you sick. The other good for a leave it command is so that you won't get into people food.

Here is the organization I am in. Your mommy can look at this site and see all the requirements.
