I was there! (Well, O'Brien wasn't. She isn't much of a fan of public events with lots of dogs) I met Charlie (owns the site manager) and Jersey Joe, and Retic and Zipper and Sugar the petition-bull. And many of their humans. (and more!) There were a lot of beautiful pets there of many breeds and species. I hope they got a lot of donations for the various shelters.
I got to go too! Boy was it hot but I still had fun meeting everyone (although I would have preferred to play ball, Yogi!) We didn't stay all day because I just wanted to play ball (who needs a leash when you have a slobbery ball in hand?) and there wasn't a good spot to run around & play. Hope everyone had fun!
we were there, it was sooo fun to actually meet the (human) faces behind the pet pics, LOL!!! we had a great time, and joe is VERY tired and worn out. he's done with his dinner, chewing a bone, and will retire to his crate soon, because we have to get up early to do a "mock drill" for our SAR unit. gotta start early to beat the 90+ weather, haha!! but, yes, such fun today! i met o'brian's mom, naji & her mom, SUGAR (yaaaa!!) and her mommy, gunnar & family, pebbles and family, beverly's mom, oh, i know i'm missing someone else......ojo, i swear, i saw a JRT, and thought, "that looks like ojo!!" LOL, i bet it was you! there were so many cute doggies there today. the new IVEC clinic is VERY impressive, too. after i dropped joe off at home, i went to FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS in irvington, and bought a whole slew of treats, some green tripe (GAG) and mike repayed me by pooping on the floor when i got home!! BRAT!!! anyhow, it was a blast, and so nice to see everyone. :)
Sydney and I went, and we were glad our mom took us early in the day, because it sure was hot! I cooled off in the pools several times. Our mom's favorite part was having our caricatures done. Our favorite part was all the treats and attention we got. I was a little afraid of Maxwell, the ACC mascot, until I figured out that his oversized paws did a GREAT job of petting! We hope lots of dogs and cats got adopted, especially Dayzee, who is adorable, and deserves a wonderful forever home. xoxo Mad n Syd
Awww. thanks for the kind words. Our rescue had an adoption event today but I'm still too scared to go to the store and try to be adopted. I'm working on it though. Today was a huge workout for me. Mom even left me for awhile with one of the girls when they were helping with the donkey. I was pretty brave.
I was there and my mom signed me up as a blood donor too. My dad and I got our pictures taken, had a hotdog and loved seeing so many other dogs in one place. I even saw a few rotties, there were 2-Princess,1-Sandy,1-Bandit and 1-Lola. After the Fair we went to the For Love of Dogs for some Dog treats and even though the ice cream social wasn't supposed to have started until 4pm, Chris gave me a yummy ice cream cup.
Hey Beverly -- you should have come over. Obviously you saw that when the ball is out, my focus is pretty narrow! I don't notice anything when I have chance to play (did you see me walking backwards thru the crowds to keep an eye on my ball too? ) I'm such ball fiend... only Yogi would understand...
We did see you walking backwards, Ojo! We just couldn't believe how you stayed so focus on your ball with everything going on! We got to see you jump up and catch it too. You're pretty awesome with that ball! I'm going to wear a shirt, button, something at the next event to show who I am. Maybe that way I can meet more of you! It's really cool to meet everyone on the site.
My mom was there. She was in the Bully breed booth and she said she had a great time! She said it was HOT but everybody was so nice...she talked to tons of people and passed out lots of literature on my breed!! Thanks to the entire staff at IVEC; you guys were great! We can't wait to do the event next year!!!!! Thanks to everybody supporting us bullies too! It's nice to know not everybody thinks we're bad!
I found people because I recognized their dogs. For example, I saw Charlie before I spotted the site manager, and I picked out Sugar as she was walking in. (I asked her mom, just to be sure.) Jersey Joe was easy to find in the SAR tent. But i bet all the non-IndyPaws people thought I was nuts, walking up to folks and going "Hey, is that _insert pet name here_ ?"
Mom took me to IVEC pet fair. I've never had my butt sniffed so much in one day. I let them know I didn't appreciate it! I met Jersey Joe, Zipper & Retic. I asked Kelly (Joe's Mom) if I could be their mascot 'cause they had good shade. They let me lay in it for a long time. I'm glad Mom didn't see the blood donation tent. She would have probably signed me up. It's bad enough getting my butt sniffed, I sure didn't want a needle stuck in my leg. Mom was good to me though when we left. She carried me across the hot parking lot so I wouldn't burn me feeties. I think next year I'll let Diva or Boomer go instead of me.
I was there too!!! We didn't recognize anyone though :-( We got there about 30 minutes before the SAR unit presentation, which was soooo cool!!! I wanted to get a charicature done, but there were way too many people waiting before me. I also got to cool off in one of the doggy pools!
I think the IndyPaws t-shirt is a great idea!!! Hopefully we can all get together again soon!
Ohhh... and one more thing, I may get to be a blood donor too!!
