Stupid irrelevant question

Boomer on My Blog - Fri, July 06 2007

Do dogs and cats blink or do they squint? The reason I ask is that Dad was having an argument with his brother. Dad says cats don't have eyelids so can't blink. Michael says they close their eyes and that qualifies as blinking even though they may or may not lack the eyelids. Personally, I'm not sure what eyelids are, so I can't say if I blink or squint. Anyways, are there any opinions out there???

My mommy says they must close their eyes all the way in order to get the fluid on their eyeball moving around. Mom says you both are right in her opinion it's a blinquint (blink and squint together)! Mommy also thinks if they squint that would imply they aren't closing their eyes all the way???? Who knows... I have no idea either Boomer.

Hey Boomer, I'm Oreo's brother!! Well, if you look at my pictures, you can see that I have a funny eye. I had a bad infection as a kitten. During that time my third eyelid, the one that goes across sideways was always visible. If you can see that eyelid (I THINK it's called a haw) that means there's something wrong with the eye and we're sick. I blink and squint with my regular eyelids. I do a slow blink when I'm really content. I think all of us cats do that.
