Why do you think it isn't healing? Is it just red, or is it oozy (sorry, ick)?
Mine was red for quite some time, but that was just the way I heal.
Your owner can try Bactine on it... it has an anesthetic in it so it kind of kills the pain/itch. Tastes bad, but won't hurt you if you lick it. Another option is neosporin, but my vet always says to just let it go naturally.
